Permitting Agency

The Permitting Agency page identifies the regulatory authority overseeing the septic system permit. This is one of the first pages in the wizard, appearing in the header section before technical design pages.

Fields

Field Type Description
Application ID Text The permit application number or tracking ID assigned by the agency
County Auto-complete The Pennsylvania county where the installation site is located
Agency Auto-complete The sewage enforcement agency responsible for the site. It is usually the township, but may be the county or a cooperative.
SEO Auto-complete The Sewage Enforcement Officer assigned to the project

How Auto-Complete Works

County

When you start typing, a dropdown shows matching counties from the full list of Pennsylvania counties. Select one to populate the field.

Agency

After you select or type a county, the agency list is automatically filtered to show only the agencies associated with that county.

SEO

The SEO dropdown is populated from a published list of Sewage Enforcement Officers. Start typing any part of the name to filter the list. Not all SEOs are in the list. You can also just type it in.

Effect on Downstream Pages

The county and agency selections may affect regulatory requirements that apply to the design for that particular jurisdiction. Jurisdiction-specific rules (such as absorption area adjustments or system type restrictions) reference the jurisdiction stored here.

Tips

  • All fields on this page are optional — you can proceed without filling them in.
  • However, the permit application ID, county, agency, and SEO are included in the design report header as a part of the design’s ID, so completing them before the final report is recommended.
