Ecoflo

The Ecoflo page appears when you selected Ecoflo as the secondary treatment method on the System Type page. Ecoflo biofilters use coconut-husk media to treat septic effluent before it reaches the absorption area.

How Model Selection Works

The model list is displayed as a tree organized by product group and subgroup. Each model is evaluated against your system’s requirements:

  • Enabled (selectable) — the model meets flow rate, nitrogen reduction, and dosing requirements
  • Disabled (grayed out) — the model does not qualify for this design

Filtering Criteria

A model must satisfy all of the following to be enabled:

  1. Flow rate — the system’s design flow rate must not exceed the model’s maximum flow rate
  2. Nitrogen reduction — if nitrogen reduction is required (set on System Type), only nitrogen-reducing models are shown; if not required, only standard models are shown
  3. Dose capacity (for dosing models only) — if the system uses pump delivery, the required minimum dose must not exceed the model’s dosing chamber capacity

Model Variants

Each Ecoflo model may appear in up to three variants:

  • Gravity discharge — the base model with no dosing chamber or lift station
  • With lift station — includes a built-in lift pump
  • With dosing chamber — includes a dosing chamber of a specified capacity in gallons; only available when pump delivery is selected and the minimum dose fits within the chamber

Some models are packaged units that include an integrated septic tank.

Automatic Selection

When entering the page for the first time (or after upstream changes), the wizard automatically selects the first enabled model in the tree. You can override this selection.

If you previously selected a model and the upstream conditions have not changed, the wizard preserves your previous selection.

Validation

You must select exactly one Ecoflo model to proceed. If no models are enabled, revisit the System Type page to verify your secondary treatment selection, or check the flow rate on the Site Investigation page.

Tips

  • The tree expands groups that contain enabled models, making it easy to find valid options.
