Dosing To Filter

The Dosing to Filter page appears when your system includes a secondary treatment filter (such as Puraflo) that requires a pump to deliver effluent from the dosing tank to the filter units. This page captures the geometry of both the inflow path (tank to filter) and the return path (filter back to dosing tank).

Fields

Elevation Change (Tank to Filter)

The ground level change from the dosing tank to the filter tank. Use the up/down radio buttons to indicate direction. Enter the absolute value in feet.

Distance (Tank to Filter)

The horizontal distance from the septic tank to the filter, measured along the pipe route. Enter in feet.

Extra Depth of Tank

Additional burial depth of the dosing tank below normal grade. Enter in feet.

Distance (Filter to Dosing Tank)

The horizontal distance from the filter tank to the dosing tank. Enter in feet.

Tips

  • The filter return line is gravity-driven (effluent flows downhill from the filter back to the dosing tank), so no pump sizing is needed for the return path. However, the return distance affects plumbing calculations.
