The Disinfect page appears when you selected either UV or Chlorine disinfection on the System Type page. This page lets you select one or more disinfection units to include in the design.
The page title changes based on the disinfection type:
- UV Disinfection Units — when UV was selected
- Chlorine Disinfection Units — when chlorine was selected
How Unit Selection Works
The unit list is displayed as a tree organized by manufacturer.
You may select one or more units. Selecting multiple units includes all of them as acceptable options in the design report.
Validation
You must select at least one disinfection unit to proceed. If the list appears empty, the disinfection unit database may not contain any visible units for the selected type.
UV vs. Chlorine
- UV disinfection uses ultraviolet light to neutralize pathogens in the effluent. UV units require electricity and periodic lamp replacement.
- Chlorine disinfection uses chemical treatment. Chlorine units require periodic replenishment of the disinfectant supply.
