Design Wizard

The Design Wizard walks you through every step needed to produce a compliant on-site sewage disposal system design. Each page collects a specific piece of information — site data, component selections, geometry — and the wizard assembles them into a finished design report.

How the Wizard Works

The wizard is a sequence of pages. You move forward with Next and backward with Back. Not every page appears every time — the wizard adapts based on your choices. For example, if you select a system type that uses a siphon instead of a pump, the pump selection page is skipped and the siphon pages appear instead.

When you click Next, the wizard validates your entries on the current page before advancing. If something is missing or out of range, you will see an error message and remain on the current page until the issue is corrected.

Page Sequence

A typical design passes through these pages in order:

  1. Persona — Select the designer profile that provides default values
  2. Permitting Agency — County, agency, and SEO information
  3. Client (Permittee) — Property owner identification
  4. Client (Bill-To) — Who receives the invoice (if different from permittee)
  5. Client (Mail-To) — Where to mail the completed design
  6. Site Investigation — Percolation rate, limiting zone, slope, and flow rate
  7. System Type — Select discharge, secondary treatment, primary treatment, and disinfection
  8. Tank Selection — Choose septic tanks, dosing tanks, and filters from the database
  9. Dosing to Discharge — Elevation and distance from dosing tank to absorption area
  10. Pump or Siphon Selection — Choose the dosing mechanism
  11. Plumbing — Pipe sizing and fitting counts
  12. Finish — Review the report, save, purchase, and download

Some designs include additional pages such as Absorption Area Adjustments, Justifications, Ecoflo configuration, or Manifold Type depending on the selected system components.

Saving and Resuming

You can save your design at any point from the Finish page. Saved designs appear in the Design Navigator where you can reopen them to continue editing. The wizard remembers your selections — if upstream data has not changed, downstream pages preserve your previous choices.

Personas and Defaults

The first page of every design is Persona selection. The persona you choose provides default values for many fields throughout the wizard (preferred tank types, default distances, fee amounts, report formatting). If you are the only designer in your organization, you will likely use the “Default” persona for every design.
